Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: This role can be based from any one of our regional Lycetts offices, including Newcastle, Edinburgh, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Ludlow, Yorkshire, Northamptonshire, Godalming (hybrid working of 2 days working from home per week available upon successful completion of probation).

About The Role

Lycetts Insurance Brokers, part of Benefact Group, are looking for an Underwriter to join one of our regional offices. This is an opportunity to manage and expand a renewal portfolio, collaborate with brokers, shape new products, and build strong relationships with insurers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Play a key role in managing and growing a developing renewal portfolio
• Get involved in various binders across different sectors
• Work with the broking team to ensure a smooth renewal process, reviewing when necessary
• Help establish new products within the underwriting team, building relationships with insurers and account executives/handlers
• Be part of a growing team
• Offer expert advice and solutions to our broking arm

What You’ll Need to Have

• Previous insurance industry knowledge
• Clear communicator with the ability to work well in a team environment
• The ability to build and manage cooperative and productive relationships

The Lycetts underwriting team is working to achieve something that is extremely rare in the broking world, separating delegated authority from the broking arm of the business, and in turn developing a centre for underwriting excellence.
