At World Insurance, you’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering best‑in‑class financial and analytical support to employee benefits clients. This role deepens underwriting and analytics expertise and plays a key role in helping employers make smarter benefits decisions.

Position Overview

World Insurance seeks an experienced Employee Benefits Underwriting & Financial Analyst for our Underwriting & Analytics team. Analyze financial and contractual info for current and prospective clients ranging from fully insured to self‑funded. Prepare deliverables, model renewals, evaluate utilization trends, and support client decision‑making with data‑driven insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and prioritize analytical workflow for accurate, timely deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain financial dashboards for a book of business (typically 100–500 employees).
  • Conduct standard client analyses aligned with the service calendar, including:
    • Market review analysis
    • Renewal rate and funding initial projections/modeling
    • Claims utilization review
    • Rate and contribution modeling
    • Benchmarking studies
    • Self‑funded feasibility analysis
    • Technical review of group insurance contracts and financial arrangements
  • Utilize systems such as Benefit Point, Perfect Quote, and others per established procedures.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, including Population Health Management, to deliver holistic client solutions.
  • Develop alternative plan strategies, models, and cost‑reduction opportunities using analytical tools and templates.
  • Act as primary contact with carriers for marketing, quoting, and renewals; request, evaluate, and negotiate proposals.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with carrier partners.
  • Draft client‑facing executive summaries and formal correspondence such as renewal confirmations and client renewal letters.
  • Participate in the peer review process to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Provide prospect and ad hoc analytical support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2–3+ years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, or a related field.
  • College degree or CEBS designation preferred.
  • Life & Health insurance license, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong skills in Word and Power BI.
  • Understanding or prior use of Claros, Blue Raven, or other actuarial modeling tools ideal.
  • Technical experience with Benefit Point, AI, Benefit Administration Systems, and Carrier Portals preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team‑oriented, client‑focused, and able to build effective relationships.
  • Commitment to staying current on industry trends, regulations, and emerging products.
Compensation

This is a remote position. Base salary ranges from $80,000 to $90,000. Individual compensation varies based on job‑related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package and variable pay programs. See details at
