We’re seeking a dedicated Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to investigate, determine compensability, and bring to resolution all claims assigned. Under the guidance of The Sandner Group, a division of One
80 Intermediaries, the Workers' Compensation Self-Insurance Trust (WCSIT) has grown to become the largest and most successful self-insurance pool for school districts’ workers’ compensation in the state of Illinois.

Your Impact:

• Confirm coverage and determine compensability on all losses.
• Investigate all new cases assigned in a timely and thorough manner.
• Make necessary contacts within 24 hours of assignment.
• Outline facts of each case and formulate a strategy to bring the file to conclusion.
• Maintain accurate and timely diary entries for all assigned files.
• Set and maintain timely and accurate reserves on all assigned claims.
• Calculate and provide accurate disability benefits within regulatory guidelines.
• Negotiate and settle claims within designated authority.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and pursue reimbursement accordingly.
• Assist with claim reviews or presentations to the board as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate claims payments.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in handling medical, lost-time, and litigated Workers' Compensation claims in an insurance environment or TPA.
• In-depth understanding of applicable Illinois Workers' Compensation laws and regulations.
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze complex information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work independently with self-initiative.
• Excellent time management, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize issues and tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment and related software tools.

80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, and paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $51,800 - $73,100 + bonus.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
