ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Claims Representative, you'll investigate moderate to highly complex commercial transportation (trucks, trailers and heavy equipment) related casualty claims in a prompt, equitable manner by analyzing coverage, liability/compensability, and damages; evaluating reserves; and negotiating settlement or conclusion of claim. You will also demonstrate a proven ability to handle complex coverage, liability, damage issues and litigated claims. Having specialty, technical knowledge of commercial vehicles, trucks, and equipment to manage a large book of truck, trailer business which includes skids, steers and agriculture equipment is important for this role.

We'll count on you to:
- Examine and analyze policies, contracts, and claim forms to determine coverage.
- Investigate loss in a prompt manner by telephone, correspondence, or on-site investigation to determine the extent of the Company’s liability.
- Request necessary reports, such as police reports, fire reports, medical records, and property damage inspections.
- Utilize independent adjusting services to assist in the claim investigation as appropriate.
- Establish accurate claim reserves and re-evaluate exposures and reserves during the life of the claim.
- Correctly enter claim data and file documentation into claim and related systems for reporting purposes.
- Negotiate settlement or conclusion of claim.
- You’ll consult with Litigation Specialist, Claims Supervisor, or Claims Manager when claim cannot be resolved and moves into litigation.
- Collaborate with Home Office Claims staff on claim files in subrogation, arbitration, and salvage recovery.
- Mentors and coaches Claims Staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
- 3+ years related claims experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with managing a high volume of auto claims to include pending claims.
- Partnership with salvage yards to dispose of vehicles and other items.
- Experience working with auto shops/repair facilities on preparation of claims through to completion.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment quickly, and professionally respond to customer inquiries.
- Possess strong customer orientation, problem analysis, problem resolution, interpersonal and communication skills.
- The inside representative may be required to travel on an occasional basis.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
What makes you stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in occupational/industrial safety, engineering or insurance.
- CSP, CFPS, CDS, CIH designations.
- Completion of or working toward AINS, ARM, CPCU or similar professional insurance designation.
- Training/presentation experience.
