Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Actuarial Division as an Actuarial Analyst. The position involves creating pricing plans to support growth and profitability objectives.

Work Arrangement: We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial in-person training, this role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week. Please note, we are not currently hiring fully remote positions. All candidates must be able to work in our Lansing, MI home office occasionally.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating frequency, severity, and premium trends to project future losses based on historical data.
• Understanding and applying insurance manuals and principles.
• Organizing and presenting reports to management.
• Communicating effectively with team members.
• Participating in training sessions.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Strong aptitude for mathematics and actuarial sciences.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL, R, or similar tools is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to change and innovation.
