Job Summary:

The Commercial Insurance Sales Producer is responsible for selling property and casualty insurance to clients and prospective clients to create and enhance the agency's book of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and providing expert risk management advice on commercial insurance products.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops a base for long-term sources of clients by using referrals, occupational and special-interest groups and other networks to compile lists of prospects to originate sales and maintain relationships with sources of leads and referrals.
  • Sells insurance policies and services directly to clients and spends a majority of time performing tasks directly related to sales activities.
  • Customarily and regularly meets with clients face to face outside of the Company's office or any home office of the employee (i.e., at the business of a client or prospect or some other venue, such as a restaurant) to sell insurance policies and services.
  • Determines clients' particular needs and financial situations by scheduling fact-finding appointments, determining extent of present coverage and ascertaining long-term goals.
  • Obtains underwriting approval by completing applications for insurance coverage.
  • Completes insurance coverage by delivering policies.
  • Plans future follow-up visits and evaluations of the needs of clients.
  • Provides continuing service by providing direct deposit forms, processing changes in beneficiary and policy loan applications.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
  • Assists, educates and develops other staff members in new client sales situations and existing client service requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Georgia Property and Casualty License
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of related commercial insurance sales experience
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial insurance products
  • Thorough knowledge of brokerage operations, including procedures and applicable insurance laws/codes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, agency management system software (preferably AMS
    360), and carrier proprietary systems
  • Excellent sales, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Strong problem solving and strategic analysis skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational and verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of self-motivation and self-direction
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Confidentiality of financial, employee, and customer information
  • Ability to travel locally, up to 75% of the time

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (Hybrid Work Schedule)
