As a Property General Adjuster, you will be responsible for the full adjustment of first‑party commercial lines claims. You’ll oversee large loss claims in non‑profit, church, education centers, and niche markets, including those escalated due to authority level. This position is based in the employee’s home office and requires travel and limited supervision.

• Investigate coverage, liability, and cause of loss on complex claims, including policy review, interviewing parties, evaluating property damages, making coverage recommendations and total value determinations, negotiating settlements, and analyzing investigative documentation.
• Deploy immediately when a loss occurs, coordinate activities such as security and temporary services for a house of worship, establish temporary facilities for education facilities, and oversee management of extensive building, structure, and contents damage.
• Provide accurate assessments and negotiate fair claim resolutions while managing costs.
• Settle losses according to documented damage, policy language, regulatory and statutory considerations, and within granted authority.
• Prepare written communication, including large loss presentations, settlement letters, coverage disclosures, and rights letters.
• Maintain effective claim file documentation and diary system.
• Monitor diary to achieve timely file development and disposition.
• Recognize and pursue recovery opportunities; submit to Special Investigative Unit (SIU) when indicated.
• Maintain required state license(s) and continuing education credits.
• Direct and supervise vendor resources—consultants, attorneys, public adjusters, accountants, engineers—while managing expense in line with company vision.
• Identify issues affecting claim process efficiency and recommend mitigation changes.
• Perform related duties as required.

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 10+ years of Property/Casualty claims experience.
• Knowledge of claims software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills; ability to compose written correspondence and concise reports with proper English, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Continuing education for licensing.
• CPCU, AIC certifications a plus.
• Prior large loss handling experience.
• Skillful negotiation in difficult situations.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Travel required.

• Experience with Guidewire Claim Center.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to perform simple and advanced mathematical calculations.
• Clear, concise communication ability.
• Ability to draft complex coverage letters and analyze facts, applying legal concepts in defense of The Mutual Group, Guide One, and/or its policyholders.

• $85,000 - $115,000 commensurate with experience, plus bonus eligibility
