High Value Residential Insurance Inspector

Signature Companies is looking for self‑starting, self‑motivated independent contractors (1099) to serve as high‑value residential insurance inspectors in the Oakland area. The ideal candidate is creative, knowledgeable, and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, able to work independently and manage their own schedule.

Responsibilities include scheduling and conducting on‑site High Value Property Surveys, coordinating work assignments, completing web‑based reports, and documenting construction materials, measurements, and hazards. You will also communicate findings via the Signature website and maintain professional interactions with homeowners and insurance agents.

• Work from your home office.
• Interact professionally over the phone, via email, and in person.
• Drive to conduct on‑site property surveys on high‑value homes per customer guidelines.
• Identify and document construction materials/characteristics and unique features.
• Obtain measurements of the home and other structures.
• Generate an estimated replacement value of the home and identify major hazards.
• Communicate information in Loss Control 360 accessed through the Signature website.

Tools and qualifications:

• Prior underwriting or residential inspection experience is desirable.
• Loss control experience desirable.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Construction experience desired, not required.
• BA or BS degree desired, not required.
• Must have smartphone, tablet and personal computer.
• Must own a reliable vehicle with Auto and General Liability Insurance.
• High‑speed internet, digital camera or smartphone with 16‑MP camera or greater, and measuring devices such as laser, soft tape or measuring wheel.
