- Provide expertise in placing accounts with carrier partners and facilitate outbound marketing of select accounts
- Oversee and manage a profitable book of business within a designated geographic territory
- Analyze submissions and make decisions on new and renewal business based on risk characteristics and underwriting guidelines
- Handle the new and renewal placement process, including pricing and negotiating with sales/service teams
- Assist agents and internal staff with carrier information and resolve questions related to applications or policies
- Must maintain current, active license(s) status through continuing education and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience in account management and insurance placement for commercial and specialty personal lines products
- Solid knowledge of underwriting concepts and servicing for excess/surplus coverages
- Experience using PC software applications such as Internet Explorer and Outlook
- Proven track record of providing customer‑oriented solutions or services
- Experience with brokerage customer service, carrier placement, and policy processing
- Familiarity with reading policy language and processing rules and procedures
- Understanding of carrier appetites and market conditions
- Demonstrated experience consulting with agents
