• Identify, solicit, underwrite, and sell new and renewal Specialty accounts to drive profitable growth
• Utilize underwriting concepts and tools to ensure compliance with guidelines and pricing methodologies
• Manage assigned portfolio to meet gross written premium, profitability, and retention goals
• Build and maintain relationships with agents and clients, effectively marketing insurance capabilities
• Prepare and analyze information on underwriting decisions and market factors to drive results

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Generally, 3-7+ years of experience in Specialty or standard commercial lines
• 3-4+ years of experience in driving agency relationships for profitable new and renewal business
• Strong communication skills to interact with internal and external business partners
• Ability to exercise judgment and make sound business decisions within the scope of authority

• Experience in managing complex accounts and negotiating profitable deals
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to change and solve problems effectively
• Familiarity with market trends and state/territory regulations
• Proven track record of building effective relationships and trust with stakeholders
• Knowledge of Hanover’s products and underwriting strategies
