Independent Risk Control Consultant

Davies is looking for Risk Control Consultants to work on an independent contractor basis. Property and Casualty Insurance-based inspection work is the underlying foundation; however most projects are consultative in nature, leading to a better understanding of risk and a focus on reducing exposures, fewer accidents, injuries, losses and claims.

Due to the rapid expansion of our services and products, the Risk Consulting Division has immediate and ongoing needs for experienced independent contractor specialists in Fire Protection, Loss Prevention, Risk Control & Mitigation.

• Progressive career advancement and technical skills through continuing education, and/or a degree in Fire Protection,
  
  B.Sc., M.Sc., or equivalent are required.
• Professional designations of EIT, P.Eng., CRM, CRSP, CIT, CIP are highly desirable but not required.
• Strong working knowledge and proven success in two or more of the following: HPR/large property, Business Interruption;
  Construction related operations;
  Commercial Fleet Operations;
  General Liability, Products Liability, Life Safety;
  Environmental Assessments;
  Safety Training, Workplace Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene;
  Hazard Analysis and Consulting.

• Ability to travel
• Certified instructor/trainer with presentation skills
• Completion of insurance institute courses

• Bi‑lingual (English & French) is highly preferred
• Consultative and client‑service approach
• Self‑management, personal drive, and pride in work
• Ability to write clear, concise, yet comprehensive reports
• Computer skills including typical office software packages
• Ability to operate a vehicle and visit client policyholders on site
• Some overnight travel when needed
