The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $80,000 - $130,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Wawanesa is looking for an exceptional candidate to take on the role of Actuarial Consultant or Senior Actuarial Analyst in our Commercial Lines Pricing Excellence team. As a member of Commercial Pricing Excellence, you will play a key role in building the data, modelling, and reporting foundations that will underpin improvements to pricing sophistication and portfolio management across all Commercial Pricing.

You will be responsible for applying your technical expertise and business acumen to design flexible and extensible solutions to a variety of business problems and collaborating with other product pricing teams to deliver strategic priorities.

we are open to hiring at either the Senior Actuarial Analyst or Actuarial Consultant level.

• Researches, extracts, and manipulates complex data from relevant sources, and assesses data quality.
• Supports the business and overall team by performing analyses/reviews and completing ad-hoc requests/special projects in a timely manner with some support from peers and leaders.
• Evaluates procedures and processes, and suggests potential alternatives or improvements.
• Evaluates existing processes to find areas for increased efficiency.
• Identifies opportunities for automation of routine tasks.
• Suggests new approaches to problem solving and assess impacts of solution options with some support from leaders.
