Join Gen Re as an Underwriting Director in the Life and Health sector, with a flexible remote option. This position emphasizes complex risk assessment and client advisory.

The Underwriting Director will play a critical role in advancing Gen Re’s Canadian Life & Health reinsurance business. You will evaluate large facultative risks and deliver exceptional client service while reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer. Building trusted relationships and contributing to strategic initiatives will be essential to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess facultative risks applying prudent underwriting judgment

• Ensure client commitments are met with timely responses

• Serve as a trusted advisor with technical expertise

• Maintain strong relationships with regular outreach

• Partner with cross-functional teams on initiatives

Requirements:

• 10+ years in life underwriting, focusing on large cases

• Medical and financial risk assessment expertise

• Approval authority of $10 million

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills

• English fluency, French is an asset
