Are you passionate about helping people and delivering great customer service? At Strata Solicitors, part of Gallagher, we’re looking for someone to join our team as a Defence Claims Handler. You’ll manage claims efficiently, provide excellent service to our clients, and work in a supportive environment. After your probation period you’ll have the flexibility to work from home two days a week.

We’ll also support your career growth by contributing to your Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) or professional legal qualification.

• Take charge of your own caseload of defence claims.
• Use our case management system to resolve claims quickly and fairly.
• Communicate with third parties and insurers to determine liability for road traffic accidents and secure the best outcomes for our clients.
• Respond to enquiries promptly and clearly, whether by phone or in writing.
• Build strong relationships with clients, keep accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• When necessary, consider litigation to avoid delays and act in the best interests of our clients.

• Quick to learn and confident in making decisions.
• Comfortable negotiating and influencing others, whether over the phone or in writing.
• Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Take pride in your work and approach challenges with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of the Highway Code would be a bonus, but it’s not essential.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
