A leading legal services organisation is looking for an experienced RTA Litigation Claims Handler to join a specialist Motability claims team. This is an opportunity to work within a collaborative environment where customer outcomes are at the centre of everything you do. You'll be supported to build on your existing technical expertise, develop your litigation experience, and play an important role in helping clients navigate complex claims.
Therole
Reporting into a Team Leader, you'll manage a varied caseload of Road Traffic Accident (RTA) personal injury claims
, including OIC, MOJ, Fast Track, complex claims, and litigated matters. You'll handle claims from initial instruction through to conclusion, providing clear legal advice, effective dispute management, and a high standard of client care throughout the process. This role will also provide the opportunity to develop your experience in post-whiplash reform claims
, particularly where liability and quantum are disputed.
- Manage a specialist caseload of Motability-related RTA claims
- Handle a range of OIC, MOJ, MIB, Fast Track, complex and Part 8 litigated cases
- Progress claims from inception through to settlement or resolution
- Develop and implement effective dispute resolution strategies
- Manage liability and quantum disputes, including post-whiplash reform cases
- Assess and value claims up to £20,000
- Provide accurate legal guidance in line with internal policies and procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships
- Work towards agreed quality, service, and performance objectives
You'll have experience handling RTA personal injury claims
, ideally gained within an insurance, legal services, or law firm environment. You'll ideally have:
- Previous Fast Track RTA claims handling experience
- Experience managing personal injury claims through the litigation process
- Knowledge of OIC, MOJ processes, Pre-Action Protocols, and Civil Procedure Rules
- Understanding of tariff and non-tariff injury valuations
- Knowledge of the Judicial College Guidelines for assessing general damages
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support and engage effectively with clients
- A proactive approach with experience working towards targets and service measures
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise effectively under pressure
The role operates on a hybrid basis, combining office and home working to support collaboration, flexibility, and effective teamwork. Office attendance will be aligned with the needs of the team and role requirements.
