Claims Handler

This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.

Glasgow (hybrid working after training period)

We’re looking for talented, driven people to join our Claims Team. You don’t need prior claims experience; strong communication, relationship management and negotiation skills are essential.

Opportunities are across Motor and Casualty claims, offering a varied and engaging environment where no two days are the same.

Our Claims function is the largest department in our UK General Insurance business and plays a critical role in ensuring customers receive an efficient, professional, and empathetic service.

We provide comprehensive training – 5 weeks in a classroom and 4 weeks of buddy support – followed by a supportive learning environment.

What will you be doing?

As a Claims Handler you will support brokers, solicitors and suppliers, focusing on understanding caller needs and delivering a great outcome. You will also shape the business through suggestions and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Handle and negotiate claims.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proactively handle third‑party claims to settle cases within optimum timescales.
  • Investigate and evaluate liability and quantum to achieve desired resolutions.

Full‑time hours are 35 per week, Monday‑Friday 8am‑6pm. No weekends, late nights or bank holiday work, and a hybrid model allows up to 50% work-from‑home after the training period.
