- Conduct in-depth analyses of disability claims by gathering, assessing, and interpreting relevant medical, vocational, financial, and contractual information.
- Determine eligibility for benefits by applying contractual provisions, internal guidelines, and medical and functional assessment principles.
- Manage complex or high-impact claims by collaborating with internal stakeholders, including medical consultants, managers, and specialized teams.
- Prepare clear and professional written communications, including claim approval and denial decisions, while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with policyholders and their representatives to answer questions, provide updates, and explain claim decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by keeping knowledge current and sharing expertise with team members.
- Recognized for strong analytical thinking and ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations.
- Excellent customer service skills, professionalism, and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Minimum of three years of experience in claims management, disability claims, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the medical field or long-term disability insurance (an asset).
- Demonstrates autonomy, adaptability, and resilience in a dynamic environment where priorities and volumes can change quickly.
- Advanced level of English and French proficiency, both written and spoken, as the role requires the analysis of unilingual English claims files and communication with English-speaking clients, healthcare providers, and business partners daily.
