Job Overview
Auto Claims Adjuster. Contribute to Wawanesa’s goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims service experience through the fair and equitable adjustment of moderately complex auto and/or property claims via telephone and written correspondence.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Interpret policy wordings, determine policy coverage and ensure appropriate reserving.
- Evaluate relevant information from sources such as appraisers, third‑party adjusters, contractors and repair facilities to quantify losses.
- Coordinate services with vendors and service providers.
- Adjust claims from inception to completion proactively.
- Maintain accurate records in the claims system according to company standards.
- Remain up‑to‑date with legislative changes and industry trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in insurance adjusting.
- Fully proficient in French and English.
- Possessing a Commercial Permit through AMF is an asset.
- Working toward Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
- Effective customer service skills, including empathy and concern for customers.
- Strong investigative and analytical skills.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
- Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry.
Hybrid work environment offering flexibility, with in‑office (2 days per week or 15 hours per week in a Wawanesa office) and remote work options. Eligible locations include Dartmouth, NS;

Salary and BenefitsEstimated salary range: $60,000 – $75,000. In addition, full‑time employees are eligible for an annual bonus plan, leave‑of‑absence top‑up programs, generous vacation time, personal days, premium‑free benefits, and a pension plan.
