In this role, you will apply actuarial and insurance expertise to develop and enhance commercial rating structures, improve pricing sophistication, and support portfolio management across Commercial Lines. Depending on level, you will contribute to or lead pricing initiatives, collaborate closely with underwriting and business partners, and support the delivery of strategic Commercial Pricing priorities.
Job Responsibilities Commercial Pricing & Rate making- Apply actuarial and insurance expertise to develop, maintain, and enhance Commercial rating plans for property, liability, farm, and/or commercial automobile portfolios.
- Research, extract, and analyze complex internal and external data while assessing data quality.
- Support and execute rate reviews that enhance segmentation and pricing sophistication.
- Support the achievement of Commercial financial goals through accurate and timely pricing analysis.
- Identify, investigate, and address complex commercial pricing and portfolio performance issues.
- Collaborate with underwriting, product, and other business partners to align pricing solutions with strategic objectives.
- Evaluate pricing methodologies and processes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Support or lead process improvement initiatives and the development of flexible, extensible pricing and reporting solutions.
- Contribute to data, modelling, and reporting foundations that underpin improvements in pricing sophistication and portfolio management.
- Contribute to or lead projects from end to end, including documentation and implementation of final pricing solutions.
- Provide regular project updates and build strong working relationships across Commercial Pricing teams and stakeholders.
- Commit to continuous professional development and progression through actuarial exams.
- Review peer work and provide constructive feedback on reasonableness, completeness, and accuracy.
