About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Insurance Underwriter specializing in Personal Lines to join their dynamic, remote-first team. This position involves the evaluation and acceptance of personal insurance risks, including home, auto, and other personal property policies. You will be responsible for pricing these risks accurately, setting appropriate terms and conditions, and ensuring profitable underwriting results in line with company strategy.
This role offers the flexibility of working from anywhere, collaborating with a nationwide team, and contributing to a company committed to innovation and excellent customer outcomes through advanced digital solutions.
- Underwrite new and renewal personal lines insurance business, assessing risks and determining terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Analyze underwriting data, financial information, and risk factors to make sound underwriting decisions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents, providing expert guidance and support.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting strategies and product offerings.
- Mentor junior underwriters and share expertise to enhance team capabilities.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in underwriting , with a strong focus on personal lines insurance .
- Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and pricing risks for homeowners, auto, and related personal insurance products.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance principles, market dynamics, and regulatory landscapes.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport remotely.
- Relevant professional underwriting designations (e.g., CIP, ACII) are highly preferred.
