We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented and proven Loss Adjuster to join our Construction & Engineering team. Ideally candidates should be based in and around London/Home Counties region. The role will involve handling claims predominantly in the UK, but the successful candidate may have the opportunity to be involved in international construction losses.
Reporting to the Head of Construction & Engineering you will be responsible for directly handling and also working as part of a team on major losses, across a broad portfolio of CAR / EAR / Construction Liability and other claims, from investigation to settlement, ensuring company standards are met in relation to all technical and operational policies and procedures, including data protection and information security.
Responsibilities- Investigating, negotiating and agreeing settlement of claims in a professional manner;
- Liaising with insured, other interested parties, insurers and brokers to achieve professional and timely conclusion of claims;
- Completing on site investigations and damage surveys for claims;
- Producing reports in compliance with professional standards and internal guidelines in accordance with agreed timescales;
- Being part of and contributing towards McLarens’ business development programme;
- Involvement in networking, professional development, training and marketing events;
- Continue with your own professional, technical and career development as part of, and with; mentoring and support from the Construction & Engineering team / McLarens company;
- Undertaking projects and other ad hoc work as required.
Successful candidates ideally have construction, engineering or law qualification and / or ACII, MRICS or ACILA, with experience construction claims loss adjusting, demonstrating a focus on quality, communication and organizational skills. The candidate should have a desire to be part of the Construction & Engineering team, working closely with other members of the team on projects as well as to have the capability to be able to work autonomously as and when required.
The position is home based. However, due to geographic coverage of the role, travel will be required from time to time. The candidate will be expected to be able to travel to and work in the London City office typically one / two times a week, attending internal and external meetings with other members of the McLarens Construction & Engineering team and clients.
