Insurance Claims Handler

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and efficient Insurance Claims Handler to manage claims processing for their East London branch. You will be responsible for receiving, assessing, and processing insurance claims in a timely and fair manner, ensuring adherence to policy terms and conditions. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex claim scenarios effectively.

The hybrid nature of this role allows for both collaborative teamwork in the office and focused administrative work from home, supporting clients across the Eastern Cape .

• Receive, record, and acknowledge new insurance claims promptly.
• Investigate claims by gathering necessary documentation and information from claimants and third parties.
• Assess the validity of claims based on policy coverage and investigation findings.
• Communicate claim status, decisions, and requirements clearly to claimants.
• Process claim payments or rejections in accordance with company procedures and settlement agreements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims handled in the system.

• Previous experience as a Claims Handler or in a customer service role within the insurance industry is preferred.
• Strong understanding of insurance products and claims handling processes.
• Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in processing information.
• Proficiency with claims management software and standard office applications.
• Ability to manage workload efficiently in a hybrid work setting based in East London.
