Claims Examiner – Workers

Join a leading claims and risk management organization supporting clients across a variety of industries. This remote California-based contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Workers Compensation Claims Examiner (3+ years of California WC experience)

This is an excellent opportunity to work independently while collaborating with an experienced claims team on challenging, high-impact cases. You'll gain exposure to complex workers' compensation claims, utilize industry best practices, and play a key role in driving timely, cost-effective claim resolutions in a flexible remote work environment.

Contract Duration: 5 Months (possible extensions)

• 3+ years of Workers' Compensation claims examining experience
• Experience managing complex and high-exposure workers' compensation claims
• Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and claim adjudication
• Experience handling litigation and rehabilitation claims
• Reserve analysis and management experience
• Settlement negotiation within designated authority limits
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to pass a credit security/background check

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Professional claims certification applicable to Workers' Compensation
• Experience with subrogation and recovery processes
• Knowledge of Medicare, Social Security offsets, and Second Injury Fund recoveries
• Experience working in a client-focused claims environment

• 90% Hands-On Claims Investigation, Adjudication, Litigation Management, Reserve Analysis, Benefit Administration, Settlement Negotiation, and Client Communication
• 10% Team Collaboration with Supervisors, Vendors, Attorneys, Medical Providers, and Clients
