Experienced Mechanical Breakdown Claims Adjuster

This opportunity is remote but only available to candidates who currently reside within the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

CNA National is seeking experienced individual contributors with demonstrated success in automotive repair, leadership, and mechanical breakdown claims adjudication.

This role is for experienced professionals, not individuals looking to learn automotive repair or vehicle service contract adjudication for the first time. The strongest candidates will combine substantial real-world service drive or technician experience with recent experience adjudicating vehicle service contract claims.

Ideal Candidates Will Bring

• Recent vehicle service contract claims adjudication experience
• Strong automotive repair or service drive experience, preferably within a franchised dealership
• Formal leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor others, influence performance, and serve as a trusted technical resource
• Sound mechanical judgment and confidence making timely, well-supported decisions
• Strong productivity, accountability, and consistently high-quality work Ability to balance contract application, cost control, and customer experience
• Strong negotiation, communication, and documentation skills

This role requires the ability to proactively gather and analyze information, interpret contract coverage, evaluate repair recommendations, negotiate when appropriate, and clearly document decisions. Successful candidates know when to make a decision, when more information is needed, and when an issue truly requires escalation.

The ideal professional can listen, analyze, type, and make decisions simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy or control of the conversation. They maintain purposeful call control, keep discussions focused, and move claims toward resolution. They can de-escalate difficult interactions, communicate unfavorable decisions professionally, and remain composed when challenged.

They also manage their time exceptionally well, prioritize effectively, and take a disciplined, no-nonsense approach to completing their work. They require minimal oversight and lead by example through preparation, productivity, reliability, and consistent adherence to high standards, even without a formal leadership title.
