Arbour Specialty is seeking a motivated Personal Lines Underwriter to join our underwriting team for the Alabama market. In this role, you will evaluate and price risks, build strong agency partnerships, and contribute directly to profitable business growth. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for managing new and renewal business while ensuring underwriting decisions align with company guidelines and profitability objectives. You'll work closely with independent agents, assess risk exposures, and help drive business development efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and underwriting new business submissions, renewals, endorsements, and policy changes
• Evaluating risks and making sound underwriting decisions within your authority
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with independent agency partners
• Communicating coverage decisions, modifications, and underwriting requirements to agents
• Conducting agency visits to strengthen relationships and support profitable growth
• Maintaining accurate underwriting documentation and system records
• Collaborating with team members to achieve business goals and deliver excellent service

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of underwriting experience
• Property & Casualty license required
• Knowledge of Excess & Surplus Lines insurance products and markets
• Experience developing and implementing marketing or business-development strategies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team member
