Loss Adjuster

Our client requires a dedicated and experienced Loss Adjuster to manage insurance claims efficiently from their base serving Richards Bay and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for inspecting damaged properties or investigating incidents to determine the cause, extent of loss, and liability of the insurer. This role is critical in ensuring that claims are settled fairly and accurately, balancing the needs of the claimant with the policy terms and company objectives.

The successful candidate will possess strong investigative skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to work autonomously in a client-facing capacity, contributing to the company's reputation for prompt and equitable claim resolution.

• Conduct on-site inspections of damaged properties (e.g., buildings, vehicles, contents) to assess the extent of the loss.
• Investigate the circumstances surrounding insurance claims to determine the cause and liability.
• Obtain and review relevant documentation, including police reports, repair quotes, and policy details.
• Prepare detailed and accurate loss reports, including photographic evidence and cost estimations.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders or their representatives in a fair and professional manner.
• Maintain clear and concise communication with clients, policyholders, and internal claims departments.

• Significant experience as a Loss Adjuster or in a similar claims investigation role.
• In-depth understanding of insurance principles, policy wordings, and claims handling best practices.
• Excellent observational skills and the ability to meticulously document findings.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
• Proficiency in using digital tools for reporting and data management.
• Relevant industry qualifications or certifications are highly desirable.
