  • Investigate and evaluate property losses, determine applicable coverage, assess damages, and negotiate appropriate claim settlements in accordance with policy provisions and established guidelines.
  • Communicate regularly with policyholders, claimants, agents, and other involved parties to provide updates, explain the claim process, and facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Establish and maintain accurate claim reserves, thoroughly document claim activities, and ensure claim files reflect appropriate investigation and settlement decisions.
  • Identify and pursue salvage, subrogation, and other opportunities to minimize claim costs.
  • Coordinate with independent adjusters, contractors, and other outside experts as needed to support claim investigations and resolutions.

Recognize potential fraudulent activity and refer appropriate matters to the Special Investigations Unit.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Underwriting, Loss Control, and Sales, to share relevant claim information and support effective business operations.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, company policies, and established claim handling procedures.
What You'll Bring:
  • A minimum of two years of property claims handling experience is preferred, including experience investigating, evaluating, and resolving property losses.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of property insurance coverage, claim investigation practices, damage assessment, and settlement procedures.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Sound critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate challenging situations while maintaining positive professional relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to independently manage competing priorities and an active claim caseload.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to effectively utilize claim management systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable state adjuster licenses and continuing education requirements.
