• Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for risk assessment and capital management.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, quantify risks, and inform business strategies.
• Conduct sensitivity testing and scenario analysis to understand the impact of various risk factors.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on actuarial findings for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and IT departments to integrate risk management insights into business processes.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of risk management frameworks and methodologies.
• Stay current with actuarial standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Assist in the validation and testing of new models and methodologies.
• Provide actuarial support for product development and pricing initiatives.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a culture of continuous learning within the team.

• Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., Society of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in actuarial analysis, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Strong proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, R, Python) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, statistical, and quantitative modeling skills.
• Proven ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with risk management principles and frameworks is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with the Kwa Zulu-Natal business landscape is a plus.
