Senior Life Insurance Underwriter

Analyze medical and financial information as a Senior Life Insurance Underwriter with Sun Life in a hybrid work-from-home environment. Apply judgment to complex risk decisions.

This senior underwriting position supports individual life and critical illness insurance applications. You will assess eligibility, classify risk, and communicate well-founded decisions while using quantitative and qualitative data. The work also involves medical knowledge, reinsurer collaboration, and advisor-focused service.

• Analyze medical, personal, and financial application information
• Assess and classify risk using underwriting guidelines
• Make decisions within authority and submit exceeding files
• Collaborate with reinsurers on complex or adverse decisions
• Document clear rationales and identify improvement opportunities

• At least three years individual life underwriting experience
• Existing signing authority for life and critical illness insurance
• Analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of medicine and risk factors
• ALU certificate or commitment to obtain it
