Sun Life seeks a Senior Underwriter for individual life insurance underwriting. You will assess medical, personal, and financial information, classify risk, and make informed decisions within your authority. The work includes collaboration with reinsurers, advisors, managing general agents, internal partners, and clients’ physicians.

• Analyze information for life and critical illness applications
• Assess and classify risk using guidelines and judgment
• Make decisions and submit excess-authority files for co-signature
• Communicate decisions clearly to advisors and physicians
• Document rationales and identify underwriting improvement opportunities

• At least three years as an individual life underwriter
• Existing signing authority in life and critical illness insurance
• Analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of medicine and risk factors
• ALU certificate or commitment to obtain it
