Silverminds LLC is seeking professional Hmong ↔ English interpreters to support our on-demand

Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services. You’ll handle real-time interpreting for healthcare, government, education, insurance, and customer support scenarios using our Quacko-Intelligence platform.

This is a fully remote, independent contractor role with flexible scheduling based on business needs.

• Provide accurate, impartial consecutive interpreting between Hmong and English over phone and video.
• Follow session protocols (greeting, confidentiality notice, first-person rendering, turn management).
• Handle healthcare encounters with sensitivity to HIPAA and cultural nuance.
• Document brief session notes when required and follow escalation/transfer procedures.
• Maintain professional audio/video quality and a distraction-free environment.

• Fluency in Hmong and English with native-level command in at least one of the two.
• 3+ years of professional medical interpreting experience (OPI/VRI required).
• Solid knowledge of medical, legal, and community terminology; ability to sight-translate short texts.
• Understanding of confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy ethics.
• Availability to cover peak business hours and punctual adherence to assigned schedules.

• Medical interpreter training/certificates (e.g., 40-hour programs) or national certifications (if applicable).
• Experience with contact centers, EHR/telehealth platforms, or large-scale language service providers.
• Reliable computer with stable high-speed internet (wired preferred).
• Professional USB headset with noise-canceling microphone and HD webcam for VRI.
• Quiet, private workspace suitable for confidential conversations.
