Responsibilities
- Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individuals with a language barrier to understand and communicate to each other
- Handle telephone or video calls on demand and render the meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English
- Process information quickly and concisely, recognize sensitive cultural differences, and remain professional and courteous
- Use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices; calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects
- Cover Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business contexts
- Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and remain neutral and objective
- Ability to quickly establish personal credibility
- Ability to follow client's instructions closely
- Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication
- With the permission or at request of the client
- B2 CEFR English level; bilingual with other required languages
- Able to work from home on a permanent basis
