Position: Bengali Interpreter Translator Required

We are urgently recruiting freelance Bengali interpreters and translators based in Sheffield for various settings such as the NHS, local authorities, police, probation and other public and private organisations.

Responsibilities

Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services.
Check the non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence.
Provide conference, consecutive and public service interpreting.
Handle highly confidential information.
Liaise between the service user and service provider.

Requirements

Fluent in English and Bengali.
Right to work in the UK.
Age 21 or over.
Formal qualifications such as Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration, Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages, or other interpreting related qualification.
