As a freelance interpreter with MCIS Language Solutions, you will provide spoken interpretation services in community settings such as hospitals, police stations, tribunal hearings, and schools. Your primary role is to facilitate clear and accurate communication between English and Bilen speakers, ensuring that individuals with limited language proficiency have access to vital services.

• Interpretation:
  Provide accurate, clear, and professional interpretation between English and Bilen in community settings. Work in high‑pressure environments such as healthcare and legal situations, requiring quick thinking and attention to detail.
• Cultural Sensitivity:
  Demonstrate cultural awareness when working with diverse communities, ensuring that both the meaning and tone of statements are faithfully conveyed while respecting cultural nuances.
• Reading and Oral Translation:
  Read and orally translate written materials, such as application forms, medical records, or legal documents, as needed.
• Facilitating Access to Services:
  Support vulnerable populations by breaking down linguistic barriers in crucial interactions, enabling them to navigate complex systems.
• Travel:
  Travel to assignment locations as required. Must be able to access assignments via car, public transportation, or other means.
• Remote Assignments:
  Handle over‑the‑phone or video interpretation assignments, providing flexibility to work from home when applicable.
• Professionalism and Confidentiality:
  Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while interpreting sensitive information.

• Fluency in English and Bilen (both written and spoken) is required.
• Reading Proficiency:
  Strong ability to read and interpret written documents accurately, converting them into clear oral translations.
• Soft Skills:
  
  Excellent interpersonal skills including empathy, patience, and a commitment to service.
• Transportation:
  Reliable means of travel to various locations.
• Legal Eligibility:
  Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

• Training:
  New interpreters receive a free online training module before starting work.
• Experienced Interpreters:
  Applications from certified community interpreters are welcomed.

$20.00 to $25.00 per hour (based on experience and assignment type)
