Freelance Interpreter English​/Idoma

As a freelance interpreter, you will play an essential role in helping English and Idoma speakers access critical services within diverse community environments. Your responsibilities will include providing accurate interpretations, demonstrating cultural sensitivity, and assisting vulnerable populations in navigating complex systems. This position allows for both in-person and remote assignments, giving you the flexibility to work from home when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate spoken interpretation in various community settings

• Demonstrate cultural awareness in high-pressure environments

• Translate written materials clearly for clients

• Facilitate access to important services for vulnerable individuals

• Travel to various assignment locations as required

Requirements:

• Fluency in English and Idoma (written and spoken)

• Strong reading proficiency for interpreting documents

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy and patience

• Ability to travel to different locations as needed

• Legal eligibility to work in Canada
