Use Chipewyan and English fluency as a remote phone interpreter for Language Line Solutions, working from your home in Canada.
This independent contractor position handles on-demand calls between Chipewyan and English speakers. You will interpret across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, law enforcement, courts, and 911. The work requires cultural competency, accurate listening, and professional communication during simple or complex conversations.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond promptly to on-demand telephone interpreting sessions
- Render complete concepts without omissions or additions
- Speak clearly using proper pronunciation and polite expressions
- Follow client instructions and established interpretation protocols
- Remain calm during sensitive or emergency calls
- Fluency in Chipewyan and English
- Strong listening, retention, and note-taking skills
- Cultural competency across regional and accent differences
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
