Interpreter – Marshallese - Part-time

We are seeking a qualified Marshallese Interpreter/Translator for a part-time, fully remote, project-based position. The primary responsibility is translating written content between English and Marshallese, including reviewing, proofreading, and editing translations. Occasional phone or video interpretation and voice-recording assignments may also be required.

Working hours are flexible and depend on project availability, workload, and business needs. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week.

• Translate written documents and materials between English and Marshallese.
• Review, proofread, and edit translations for accuracy, grammar, clarity, and consistency.
• Accurately convey meaning, tone, and intent across languages.
• Provide occasional phone and video interpretation as needed.
• Complete voice-recording assignments and other language-related projects.
• Support projects related to employment, training, orientation, meetings, human resources, health services, and other operational activities.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
• Communicate proactively with team members to clarify project requirements.

• Proficiency in Marshallese and English

• Must pass the interpreter/translation assessment with an average total score of 90% or higher

• Strong written communication skills in both languages.
• Strong verbal communication skills for occasional interpretation assignments.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Reliable internet connection and basic computer and typing skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurately convey information.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in translation or interpreting.
• At least one year of translation or interpreting experience; equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
• Knowledge of translation and interpreting best practices.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar platforms.

• Part-time, fully remote position.
• Weekdays only.
• Flexible weekly hours based on project availability and business needs.
• No guaranteed minimum weekly hours.
• No travel required.
