Title Examiner Abstractor - Remote

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company, one of the fastest-growing land management and acquisition agencies in the country, is seeking experienced Title Examiners/Abstractors to work remotely on completing West Virginia surface and mineral titles.

• Research and examine online public records related to mineral and surface title in West Virginia
• Compile full chains of title, identify gaps or defects, and create comprehensive title abstracts
• Interpret deeds, easements, leases, plats, probate records, court filings, and other relevant legal documents
• Identify and summarize ownership interests, encumbrances, and potential title issues
• Prepare detailed title reports, title acquisition packages, and title commitments based on search results
• Communicate findings clearly and professionally in written and verbal formats

• Prior experience completing complex mineral and surface title examinations (mortgage or insurance title experience alone is not sufficient)
• Demonstrated ability to perform full title abstracting in West Virginia, including HBP (Held By Production), leasehold, and fee title
• Skilled in interpreting legal documents and historical property conveyances
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage time across multiple projects

• Familiarity with courthouse research tools and online public record systems
• Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, flow chart software, and deed plotting software
• Experience with Citrix Remote Desktop environments preferred

• Mineral Title Experience
• Deed Plotting experience, including merge deed plots
