Dentons Bingham Greenebaum LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Conflicts Attorney to support our legal operations. This role is ideally based in Indianapolis, Lexington, or Louisville, though remote or other locations may be considered for the right candidate. The Conflicts Attorney will work closely with personnel across the Firm and the US Region, focusing on the review and resolution of conflicts related to new clients and matters.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze new business submissions to identify legal and business conflicts of interest.
- Utilize internal and external databases to assess conflicts reports related to clients, matters, and prospective engagements.
- Collaborate with attorneys across the firm to resolve potential conflicts and advise on necessary waivers.
- Draft waivers, engagement letters, and other documentation for partner review and client submission.
- Maintain accurate records of conflict resolutions to ensure database integrity and support future conflict checks.
- Investigate and correct incomplete or outdated data in the conflicts database.
- Communicate proactively with department leadership on complex conflict and compliance issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the firm’s risk management and compliance efforts.
Experience &
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in conflicts analysis within a law firm.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the firm.
- High attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Strong legal research skills and familiarity with ethics and conflicts rules across jurisdictions.
Preferred:
- Experience with Intapp conflicts checking, ethical wall, and business intake software.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Familiarity with current best practices in legal ethics and conflicts management.
