A respected Phoenix litigation firm trusted by Arizona’s largest hospitals and healthcare providers is seeking a Med-Mal Associate to defend what matters most: patient care and professional integrity. Med-Mal Associate Responsibilities- Manage a 10 - 15 case docket of medical malpractice defense matters
- Conduct deep case evaluation, including witness interviews, discovery analysis, expert involvement
- Draft pleadings, motions, disclosures, and discovery requests/responses
- Take and defend depositions
- Argue motions and appear for hearings in state/federal court
- Develop case strategy alongside partners and nurse consultants
- Support all phases of trial preparation and courtroom participation
- Communicate professionally with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel
- Track deadlines and enter billable time accurately
- 2 - 5 years of civil litigation experience
- Arizona bar admission
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills with a proactive mindset
- Team-first approach, humility, and professional communication skills
- Commitment to honest billing and delivering excellent client service
- Direct med-mal experience or defense-side background preferred
- Aptitude for medical concepts and expert-driven litigation preferred
- Billable bonus paid on hours >1900/yr at your hourly salary rate
