A nationally recognized litigation firm is hiring a Remote Litigation Associate – Insurance Defense to join its growing team. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for attorneys licensed in California who are eager to handle high-stakes litigation for major insurance carriers while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

This position provides exposure to meaningful litigation, direct client interaction, and mentorship from senior trial attorneys—all while maintaining work-life balance in a distributed setting.

Litigation Management

• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal filings for state and federal court cases
• Support or lead trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination

Discovery & Case Development

• Conduct depositions and witness interviews
• Handle written discovery and document review
• Perform legal research and analyze case law to support defense strategies
• Partner with senior litigators on trial and case strategies
• Engage directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
• Maintain productivity with a reasonable billable hours target

Education & Licensure

• J.D. from an accredited law school

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience (junior associates welcome)
• Prior experience in insurance defense or high-volume litigation preferred

Skills & Attributes

• Excellent legal writing and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
• Self-starter capable of thriving in a fully remote environment

• Location: Fully remote (must meet California Bar requirements)
• Salary Range: $145,000 – $170,000, depending on experience
