A well-established law firm serving cities and public entities seeks a seasoned Municipal Law & Land Use Attorney to join its expanding Citrus Heights office. This is a full-time, non-litigation role offering a mix of in-office, field, and occasional remote work, with potential to grow into a City Attorney position.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 5–8 years of experience advising public agencies, particularly in land use and transactional municipal law. You’ll serve as a trusted legal advisor to planning commissions and other governing bodies, offering guidance on critical regulatory areas including the Brown Act, the Public Records Act, and the Political Reform Act.
Key Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience representing public agencies
- Strong advisory and transactional background in municipal law
- Proven ability to serve as legal counsel to planning commissions or public boards
- Familiarity with California land use and zoning laws (e.g., variances, CUPs)
- Experience with CEQA/NEPA, development agreements, election law, medical marijuana regulations, and more
- Must be able to reliably commute to Citrus Heights, CA
Salary:
- $165,000–$180,000 annually, plus full benefits.
