Overview

Preg O’Donnell & Gillett, a regional, full-service litigation and business firm, is seeking a litigation associate for their Portland office. We are seeking attorneys with five or more years of experience who are capable of handling matters independently and interact directly with clients on a variety of defense litigation cases including:

  • Business Litigation
  • Construction Law
  • Data Breach & Security Response
  • Hospitality & Food-Borne Illness Litigation
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Product Liability
  • Professional Liability
  • Transportation & Trucking Law

Responsibilities include solid drafting, writing, and researching skills, as well as excellent client relationship and interpersonal skills. Candidates with law firm and case management experience, including deposition, motions practice, and trial experience, are strongly preferred. Oregon State Bar membership is required;
Washington State Bar membership is a plus. School law or public entity defense experience is desired but not required. Salary is DOE and ranges from $110K–$130K annually.

Responsibilities
  • Handle defense litigation matters with independence and direct client contact
  • Draft, research, and analyze legal issues; prepare motions and associated filings
  • Contribute to deposition preparation and trial readiness as applicable
Qualifications
  • Oregon State Bar admission required;
    Washington State Bar admission a plus
  • Five or more years of relevant experience with the ability to manage matters with limited supervision
  • Strong drafting, writing, and researching skills; excellent client relations and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience in deposition, motions practice, and trial work preferred
