Employment Counsel - Remote (IL, AZ, TX, NC)

Job DescriptionThe Employment Counsel will provide legal advice and counsel in all areas of employment, including:
- pre‑litigation / pre‑arbitration, agency charges, compliance, accommodations, compensation, and employee separations
- workplace legal risk and strategy with business units, other legal departments, and outside counsel
- Provide advice and counsel to HR and business units on employment laws such as joint employment, wage and hour, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, OWBPA, OSHA, Title VII, and WARN.
- Draft and respond to cease‑and‑desist letters related to employment, non‑compete, or confidentiality disputes.
- Manage complex pre‑litigation and arbitration matters and provide cost oversight.
- Provide complex training to HR on various employment law issues, terminations, and reductions in force.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on employee matters in Canada, India, Mexico, and Northern Ireland.
- Handle arbitrations, dispute resolution, mediation/settlement conferences, and prepare settlement documents.
- Review and revise responses for agency complaints and requests.
- Develop strategies for assigned matters and evaluate the use of outside counsel.
- Remote work with required domestic U.S. travel (approximately 10%).

- Juris Doctor (required).
- Licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- Five or more years of employment‑law experience.
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
- Budget management and resource allocation.
- Analytical ability to interpret complex information and provide actionable insights.
- Clear, concise communication of complex concepts.
- Litigation and/or employment‑law matter management.
- Research and synthesis of legal, regulatory, and business information.
- Time management and prioritization.
- Team collaboration across functions and leadership partnerships.
- Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function.
- Will undergo a background investigation.
