About the role | Mō te neitūranga mahi

We are seeking a skilled Legal Specialist to provide expert advice, manage contracts, and ensure compliance with New Zealand laws. This role supports governance, mitigates legal risk, and advises on commercial, property, regulatory, and privacy matters.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring legal soundness and alignment with policies
  • Provide timely legal advice on commercial, property, regulatory, and privacy matters
  • Manage legal risk and compliance frameworks, supporting governance and reporting
  • Coordinate external legal counsel, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and value for money

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to work from home, with 3 days in the office. This is a fixed-term role with an end date of 30 June 2027.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Laws or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in in-house legal and contract management
  • Experience in contract negotiation and legal risk management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate legal concepts for non-legal audiences
