We’re a small law office in Salem, OR focusing on family law (with additional practice areas in immigration and probate). We value technology to gain efficiency and results for our clients. We have a 5‑star Google rating, serve multiple counties in Oregon—Multnomah, Washington, Marion—and many of our clients are Spanish‑speaking.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a hardworking and results‑driven SPPE Provisional License Applicant to join our family‑law practice. The applicant will work alongside our managing attorney, who will also serve as the supervising attorney. The applicant will receive strong mentorship and support from attorneys, paralegals, and staff to complete program requirements and portfolio, while developing legal, professional, and business‑management skills.

The ideal candidate has an interest in family law / civil law litigation and values a flexible and remote work schedule. This position is expected to transition into a full‑time associate attorney role upon successful completion of the SPPE program and bar passage.

Compensation is hourly and negotiable.

Responsibilities
  • Clear understanding of the SPPE requirements and deliverables
  • Conduct initial client consultations
  • Open, manage, and litigate family‑law cases (dissolution, custody/parenting time, support, modifications, etc.)
  • Draft pleadings, handle discovery, and prepare/argue motions
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Collaborate with a support team using modern tech for efficient, organized case management
  • Receive ongoing mentorship on family‑law practice and lawyering
Qualifications
  • J.D.
  • Meet OSB’s requirements for eligibility for the SPPE program
