Remote Patent Prosecution Legal Secretary

8:30-5 or 9-5:30, the attorneys like earlier hours

Paid overtime;
This role will work with partners in CA and across the US.

$88,000-$114,000, depending on years of Patent experience, skills, and education.

The firm seeks a full-time patent prosecution secretary with at least 3+ years of U.S. patent prosecution and application filing experience. This position supports several timekeepers in Electrical and AI Patent prosecution, including coverage during the department’s secretarial absences.

Duties
  • Prepare U.S. patent applications, amendments, and other legal documents for e‑filing and reporting.
  • Prepare reporting letters for the client to review by the timekeepers.
  • Prepare expense reports for timekeepers.
  • Work with Firm Travel to coordinate timekeeper travel arrangements.
  • Correspond directly with clients as requested.
Knowledge and Skills Required and Preferred
  • Bachelor degree preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ years of patent application filing and prosecution experience, domestic and foreign would be a plus.
  • Must be a self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in a document management software, preferably iManage.
  • Experience in an IP Management Solution, preferably Inprotech.
  • Available for overtime as needed.
