Location: New York

The Docket Clerk supports the Managing Attorney’s Office with litigation calendaring, electronic court filings, and docket management. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, knowledge of court rules, and attention to detail, who is comfortable working in high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environments. The position involves significant responsibility for reviewing filings, advising case teams, and ensuring procedural compliance. This can be a remote position and the standard schedule for this role is Monday–Friday, 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET

Responsibilities
  • Support the Managing Attorney in leading the Managing Attorney’s Office (MAO), optimizing workflows, training, and policy implementation.
  • Oversee and maintain a centralized litigation calendar and case management system, ensuring timely reminders and updates for key deadlines, filings, and court appearances across all active matters.
  • Analyze court filings to identify important dates, update individual and firm‑wide calendars, and ensure that teams receive timely notifications about upcoming deadlines or procedural requirements.
  • Monitor federal and state court dockets (primarily NY) using Court Alert, PACER, and other docketing tools.
  • Review draft filings for compliance with court formatting and procedural rules; coordinate with attorneys and staff to correct deficiencies.
  • File legal documents electronically in federal and state courts, including after business hours.
  • Arrange for service of legal papers and coordinate with process servers and third parties.
  • Research court procedures and assist attorneys with filing logistics and admissions.
  • Serve as a liaison with court clerks and support staff to resolve docketing issues.
  • Assist with onboarding new matters and docketing profiles.
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of recent, relevant experience in a law firm or managing attorney’s office required
  • Strong knowledge of NY and federal court rules and filing procedures
  • Familiarity with Court Alert strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively
  • Highly organized, responsive, and able to prioritize under pressure
  • The ability to be available for late filings required

This is a non‑exempt position and the annual salary range for this role is $90,000‑$110,000, commensurate with experience. Must be based in one of the following states:
New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, or Illinois. This salary range reflects the estimated base salary. Total cash compensation will be higher when factoring in gap pay, overtime, year‑end bonus and benefits.
