What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda

• Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department

• Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations

• Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing as applicable

• Document files in a clear and professional manner for various stakeholders

What is Required (Qualifications)

• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury

• Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED

• Admission to the New York Bar REQUIRED

• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New York

• Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, and meetings

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Civil litigation experience

• Insurance defense-related litigation experience

• Strong communication skills in person, via telephone, and in written correspondence
