Benesch Law invites applications for a Litigation Legal Assistant in our New York office. This hybrid position offers flexibility to work from home and is part of a dynamic, fast‑paced team at one of the nation’s fastest‑growing law firms.

Position SummaryThe role supports assigned attorneys with litigation tasks, case management, calendaring, travel coordination, and extensive court and client communication. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail‑oriented, and ready to contribute to a collaborative team.
Essential Functions- Prepare, revise, redline and proofread pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, motions, briefs (Federal, State, local, appellate), generate tables of authorities, contents, etc.
- Manage heavy case load, court and client communication, deposition & trial logistics.
- Assist assembly, production, tracking of discovery pages, exhibits, trial binders, and overall trial prep.
- Maintain working knowledge of e‑filing procedures for Federal, State, local courts.
- Create & maintain client and administrative files in the document‑management system.
- Utilize workflow system to manage timekeeper assignments, organized workload, and support others during PTO or peak periods.
- Schedule appointments, conference room requests, meal requests and maintain attorney calendar.
- Enter and release attorney billable time per firm guidelines; review client billing proforma.
- Perform initial conflict checks, open/close client matters and prepare engagement letters.
- Monitor case deadlines and coordinate with Docket Department to meet them.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and track expenses for reimbursement.
- Communicate professionally and promptly with internal and external clients, delivering a high level of customer service per the Firm’s “First in Service” philosophy.
- Participate in practice‑group support coverage team.
- Stay current with all firm systems and practices.
- May require overtime or weekend hours.
- Perform additional office support duties as assigned or requested.
Due to the nature of the position, various confidential documents and information will come to your possession. All such information must be kept confidential at all times.
Qualifications• High‑School Diploma and at least seven years of litigation experience, preferably MDL or class‑action litigation.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, work well with others, and possess excellent communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), TOC, TOA, Styles, PDF software.
• Experience with InTapp Time, Intapp Open, Chrome River Expense Reporting, Aderant, Interaction, iManage is a plus.
• Excellent customer service attitude.
Laboratory: $90,000 – $115,000 per year. Salary based on market location and experience; base pay is only one part of the total rewards.
